A little bird reaches toward ripe persimmons across layers of botanical-dyed cloth, creating a small autumn scene for the tea table. Hundreds of free-form Sashiko-inspired stitches travel across the surface one by one, adding texture without following a rigid pattern.

Raw edges, tiny patches and visible stitches are intentionally left as traces of the making process. In East Asian tradition, persimmons are often associated with abundance and good fortune, while the bird gives the composition a light, lively feeling.

After tea, the mat can be rolled and secured with its small fabric strap.
